With 25+ years of veterinary industry experience, Heather joined the Mercy family in June of 2014. A native of Pelham Alabama, Heather attended Auburn University as an Animal and Dairy Science major. Heather manages the Client Services Team and assists the veterinarians in daily hospital and marketing operations. She has an immense passion for animal advocacy and animal health education. Her free time is spent on her small family farm with 5 dogs, 6 cats and 2 horses. Kat joined the Mercy team in 2008. With 20+ years of experience, Kat brings with her vast knowledge of veterinary medicine and leadership skills. Kat manages our team of 10 veterinary assistants and keeps the hospital running smoothly and efficiently throughout each day. Kat’s favorite aspect of veterinary medicine is dental health care, intensive care and surgery. She shares her home with her dogs, Lugz and Ruby, cats, Vinnie, Leon, Butters, Spooky and Daisy, a Cockatiel named Frodi and several chickens, as well as her husband, Doug and daughter, Tabitha.

Veterinary Technicians and Assistants
Our Veterinary Technicians and Veterinary Assistants work hand in hand with our doctors to provide the best possible medical care for our patients. Trained to assist our doctors in surgery, dentistry, radiology, ultrasound and treatments, our technicians and assistants help to ensure that your pet receives the one-on-one attention it deserves during your visit. You may meet them in an exam room while waiting for the doctor, or you may speak to one of them on the phone to inquire about your pet’s care. Either way, please introduce yourself and ask any questions that you may have.
Our health care team would not be complete without our caring and dedicated Kennel Technicians. Responsible for the overall well-being of all pets that board here at Mercy, our Kennel Technicians maintain extra-clean facilities, feed, water and walk, monitor general pet safety, and provide soothing baths for our boarding guests. You may meet one of them when your pet is brought up from boarding or a bath. Please feel free to ask them any questions about your pet during its stay. They’ll be happy to tell you everything!
